Blood Orange Hot Chocolate


1 cup coconut milk warmed gently on the stove

1 teasp coconut oil

1 tablespoon Cacao powder

1 tablespoon raw honey

1 blood orange (half peeled and half with peel, but you may prefer totally peeled)

A pinch of Himalayan Salt


  • Warm the coconut milk gently on the stove and add the coconut oil to melt it down.
  • Blood oranges tend to have thinner skins, so it’s quite nice to keep a little peel on. I use half peeled and half not. Adjust to your own personal preference. Note that a Vitamix will pretty much pulverize the peel but other blenders tend not to break things down so well, so you could be left with a few pithy bits.
  • Place all the ingredients in a blender and whiz round until smooth.
  • Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy 🙂 🙂
